Basketball Teams Tip Off the Season

All four SA Basketball teams have now officially started their seasons with this past Tuesday night's home games at SA! They will all continue with non-league games until Winter Break, ultimately looking to be playing their best basketball in league play this January.

The JV girls took on Credo High on Tuesday and used a second half surge to pull out a double digit victory in their first game of the season. The JV boys have dominated in their two wins, coming last week at Elsie Allen and at home this week against Technology High School.

The Varsity girls have now played three games, two of them against very tough competition at Mt. Diablo of Concord and International High from San Francisco, but the Coyote varsity girls were able to pick up their first win on Tuesday against Technology High. The Varsity boys are now 2-0 on the young season, pulling out a close three point victory at Elsie Allen before Thanksgiving break, as well as a game with a large margin of victory over Technology High on Tuesday night.

Both Varsity teams will play in two very good small-school basketball tournaments at the end of this week, with the boys at St. Helena High School and the girls at Marin Academy. All four teams will be in action again at SA on Tuesday, Dec. 5, with game times of 3:30 pm (JV Girls), 5:00 pm (JV Boys), 6:30 pm (Varsity Girls), and 8:00 pm (Varsity Boys).
