Alex graduated with a BA in Neuroscience from Pomona College, where she also worked as a teaching assistant in Pomona’s Human Brain Lab. She teaches in our STEM department as one of our inaugural Penn Fellows.

In Spring 2024, Sonoma Academy was accepted into the prestigious University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (GSE) Independent School Teaching Residency (ISTR) program. This partnership between the Penn GSE and a consortium of the nation’s leading boarding and day schools allows aspiring, early-career teachers to earn their master’s degree in education while also completing a two-year fellowship at a highly regarded independent school. We are joining a select group of schools from across the country in the ISTR program — and only the second school west of the Mississippi River in the consortium.
