Before coming to Sonoma Academy, Laura taught English at the Castilleja School in Palo Alto, her own alma mater. She taught previously at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy and the Hillbrook School, and also coached polo at the high school and college levels.
Laura is a voracious reader, and eager consumes everything: "journalism, novels, nonfiction, poetry, old stuff, new stuff, and always with an eye towards expanding my curriculum!" She also graduated from yoga and mindfulness teacher trainings, and incorporates these practices into her teaching and work with students.
Laura says: “I'm excited to work at SA because of the community. Students and staffulty really care about each other and everyone is genuinely excited about learning, and I can't wait to be a part of that!”
